The power measurements were made with Kill-A-Watt devices ordered from Sustainability Systems over the period of time indicated. Note that comparing these machines is an apples and oranges kind of comparison. The T1000 has 2 drives, 16GB of memory, and 4 Gigabit Ethernets (GbE), much of which were unused. The Pentium IV, likewise, had an extra disk controller, and a pair of extra 10,000 RPM drives as well.

T1000: (50 days) Running Solaris 10

182KW, 1215 Hours - 149 watts per hour.

The T1000 is the standard T10Z108A-16GA2F, 8 core, 2 73GB drives, 16GB of
memory.

Burned up just over half the CPU available to me in the evaluation period!
